Principal’s Message – Kate Ferguson
As we reach the end of another school term, I wanted to take a moment to express appreciation for your support and partnership throughout this semester. Your dedication to your child's education and collaboration with our school community have been instrumental in creating a positive and enriching environment for all our students.
The past term has been filled with numerous achievements, challenges, and memorable moments. Together, we have witnessed your children grow not only academically but also spiritually, socially, and emotionally. It is a testament to their resilience, curiosity, and hard work, which are qualities we greatly admire and nurture in our educational journey.
For the past 3 weeks I have had the pleasure of interviewing those seeking a Kindergarten enrolment for 2024. Today all applicants received an email about their enrolment status for 2024 at St John the Baptist. I look forward to welcoming these new students and their families – whether they be existing or new families to our community – later this year.
Following our three way conferences and as we prepare to bid farewell to this term, I encourage you to continue to celebrate your child's achievements and growth over the past months. Celebrate their perseverance, their accomplishments, and the relationships that they have formed.
Wishing you and your family a restful and rejuvenating break. May it be filled with joy and love. We look forward to welcoming your child back in the next term for new adventures, growth, and accomplishments.

Rugby League Gala Day
We had an amazing day at the Knight’s 9s Rugby League Gala Day on Tuesday the 27th of June. It was a privilege to take the boys to represent our school and their effort and behaviour was exceptional and we were all so proud of them.
The first game kicked off with St John the Baptist Blue taking on Metford Public School. St John’s won 6-0. We dominated the game in defence and attack. Then, the other St John’s team (St John the Baptist Red) also took on Medford Public and won 7-0. After the first two games, both teams were undefeated and held their opposition scoreless.
St John the Baptist Blue played their second game out of three, against Telarah Public School. We won 6-1, with another great performance in attack and defence. St John the Baptist Red also played their second game against Telarah Public School. The game was very tough, but St John’s came out with the win 5-3.
St John the Baptist Blue played their final and toughest game against St Joseph's East Maitland Red. We were tired and fatigued, but still gave everything we had. But sadly, our amazing winning streak ended losing to St Joseph's 3-0. St John the Baptist Red played their final game against St Joseph's East Maitland Blue, it was a tight and very even game which ended in a 2-2 draw. Both teams played amazingly and showed real determination and skill. There were some injuries throughout the day which was unfortunate but it was amazing to see the care and compassion we all showed for our friends when they were hurt.
We are so proud of the boys for giving it their all in this Gala Day and we thank all of the parents who came out to support our incredible boys during the day!
